Ripple Blanket

I am very excited to share this project.

This is my first “big” crochet piece and I was actually surprised at how long it ended up taking (it was much less than I had thought).  I had a bunch of leftover skeins from smaller projects that only required a bit of yarn such as the orange, aqua blue, and royal blue from the Frozen Girls project, and also yellow from the Batman Minion but I can’t recall why I had the green…  any ways, I had these 5 colors and I wanted to make a baby blanket for my son because he loves snuggling in bed in the morning with a cozy blanket while Mommy gets ready for work.  I was happy enough with the 5 colors but I was worried it wouldn’t end up being enough so I went out and got 2 more skeins in red and teal.  Silly plan that was – I now have enough to make a second blanket!

Oh well, I am so happy with how it turned out that I would love to make another.  I used the Ripple Blanket pattern from Attic24 with Red Heart Soft Touch for yarn.

Here are the colors I used (in order) Royal Blue, Guacamole, Tangerine, Teal, Really Red, Turquoise and Lemon.

Of course my little stinker just couldn’t keep his hands off….

In the end I decided to put an aqua colored border around.  For that I used Red Heart’s Anne Geddes Baby Yarn in Spearmint.  I love the way it turned out and I can’t wait to try another with all different color combinations.

So there you have it, in all it’s rippled awesomeness.  Attic 24 has lots of other beautiful blankets and projects definitely worth checking out!

Stay tuned for the cute accessory I plan on adding to this project!
